Who knew that Scott’s Aunt Sue giving Ben this:

would result in this:

After a year of trying to teach him how to pedal, 10 minutes playing the game did what we couldn’t do.  Thanks Sue!!

New Year’s Plans

Scott’s band is going to be having a New Year’s Eve Celebration and Dance on Wednesday, December 31st at 8:00 PM to 12:30 AM at the LDS Church building located at 220 South Woodland Hills Drive in Woodland Hills, Utah.  (Unless Annie decides to make her grand arrival - then it will be the rest of the band minus Scott!!)  All family and friends are invited to come and enjoy a free evening of music by Crossroads and to celebrate the New Year.  Please bring a potluck party item to help with providing food for this free event.  Chips, dips, cookies, crackers, veggie trays, sodas, water, punch, desserts, etc., etc. would be greatly appreciated.  All in attendance are expected to follow LDS standards while at this event.

** UPDATE **
Your kids are all welcome to come as well.

December Daring Baker’s Challenge

It’s time again to reveal what the Daring Baker Challenge was this month!!

This month’s challenge is brought to us by the adventurous Hilda from Saffron and Blueberry and Marion from Il en Faut Peu Pour Etre Heureux.

They have chosen a French Yule Log by Flore from Florilege Gourmand

I have to say that this challenge at first was a little daunting.  I read through it and opened up the word document and it was 14 pages long (it has variations of the 6 different elements)!!  Then I went through and choose what my elements would be at it was 7 pages long.  However, once I started doing each of the seperate elements it wasn’t as scary as I thought it was going to be.  I made the Dacquoise Biscuit (almond), Milk Chocolate Whipped Cream (Chantilly), Cinammon-Milk Ganache Insert, Chocolate Crisp Insert, Chocolate Creme Brulée Insert, and Milk Chocolate Icing.  We actually ending up serving it as desert for our Christmas Eve Dinner at my mom’s house.

Christmas Day

Santa found us this year.  Ben had been asking for a drum set like his Grandpa Ron’s since March of this year.  Tyler needed some sort of microphone so that he wouldn’t fight with Ben over Ben’s microphone.  He got a singing stage which he seems to love.

Some of these pictures are a little dark, but I was trying to get their reactions so I wasn’t using the flash because it takes to long to recharge.

Here’s a picture to show you the size of Ben’s drums compared to an adult!!

We went to Scott’s parents house for Christmas Breakfast (we have it there every year and it is always so yummy!!)

Kristy (Scott’s sister) was able to get 2 Wicked tickets for Scott’s parents for their Christmas present from all of us.  This is their reaction when they saw what we had gotten!!

ch-8

It was such a nice day!!  We were very spoiled.  We feel very blessed to have most of our family around us at this time of year and that we are able to spend time with them.

Christmas Eve

We had a nice evening at my parents house for Christmas Eve.  We were able to be with my parents, my sister and her family, and my grandma and grandpa.  We had a great dinner (my mom always puts in so much work to try and make it such a special meal).

Every year my mom finds these amazing story to share with the grandkids (see straw story).  This year was no exception.  Then each of the grandkids shared a song with everyone.

The boys were able to find their Christmas pajamas and as a tradition everyone put their new pajama’s on.

Santa Cookies

We waited until Christmas Eve Day to make our cookies so that Scott could be home to help us.  It was fun that Tyler was big enough to help with the sprinkles this year!!  He was trying to eat the frosting as fast as I could get it on the cookies.  It was fun to watch the boys make the cookies together.

Ben and His Dog

After Ben built his snowman he came inside and wanted to watch the Polar Express.  Baxter took the opportunity to sit with Ben.  It was so cute because normally Ben will squeeze the dog to death, but he just let him sit and rest.
