Zoo

Today was Tyler’s first trip to the zoo. I have been taken Ben a couple times a year since he was born and decided during Spring Break it would be fun to take the boys together. This time I dragged Hannah and Hudson along with us. Ben was so excited that he was going to the zoo with “his Hudson.” Our family friend Zacary came along with us. We went every exhibit in the zoo. Ben’s two favorite animals to see were the tigers and the elephants. We got some fun pictures we wanted to share.

General Conference

So this week was General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I look forward to conference being an opportunity to listen to the Prophet and Apostles speak. It’s two days of listening and feeling the spirit without having to fight Ben to sit on the church bench or running to the potty or chaning dirty diapers or getting throw-up all over my dress.
Before conference started I had been doing alot of thinking and praying. I was finding that I was feeling overwhelmed as a person and as a parent. Conference was getting close to being over. I knew that there was time for maybe two more talks. Then Elder M. Russell Ballard stood up to speak. As he started to talk I felt the spirit pour into my heart as though I was getting the answers to my prayers. He spoke to the young mothers out there. He talked about that fact that sometimes it is hard, but we should focus on those “shining moments” and not be in such a rush to get things done that we miss the experience that we are being given. It has been amazing the difference that I have experienced in just the four short days since conference ended. Ben’s Christmas Wish

Ben has asked us if Santa Claus could bring him a drum set for Christmas. We told him that if he asked Santa for a drum set that we were sure that he would bring him a set. Well, we decided for Scott’s band to have practice at our house. So Tuesday night Scott’s dad brought over his drum set. Well Wednesday morning Ben comes running in the bathroom and started banging on the shower door shouting “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy.” I hurried and got out of the shower because I thought that something was wrong. I said, “Ben, what’s going on?” He said, “Mommy, Santa came to my house and brought me red drums. I love them.” You can imagine his disappointment when we explained to him that they were Grandpa’s drums. We told him that he could play drums with grandpa that night. He asked if Santa could still bring him drums. We assured him that Santa could, so I know have 7 months and counting of peace and quiet before the noise level in our house changes forever!!
