RSV

I know that it has been a while since we have blogged, but we have an excuse.  I took Tyler to the doctor on Friday for his 4 month check up.  He had a little cough, but Ben had been sick so I didn’t think much of it.  He now weighs 16 lbs. and is 25 inches long (75% for height and weight).  The doctor came in and did an examination and let me know that Tyler had RSV.  He said we could do a breathing treatment, but it doesn’t work for very many kids, so I shouldn’t get my hopes up.  Well, lucky for us the treatment helped.  So I went to the doctor thinking I was getting a well check visit and left hoping that Tyler wouldn’t end up in the hospital.  We had a very scary night Friday night which led to an exciting anniversary of sitting around watching Tyler breathe.  Tyler is doing well now.  We have been able to move his breathing treatments from every 4 hours to every 6 hours.  Most of the time when he is having the treatments he is smiling and laughing (aren’t we lucky to have such a happy kid!!)  We feel very blessed that he is on the mend and will soon be back to trying to roll over. :)

Warren’s Getting Married

We got some exciting news this week.  Scott’s friend Warren called to let us know that he was getting married.  He came up and visited about 6 weeks ago and we had the chance to meet Katie.  We were very impressed with her and excited that he had found someone so great for him.  When Warren called he said that they were at a dance on New Year’s Eve and that at midnight he got down on one knee and proposed.  (There is a video of it that I can’t wait to see!!)  There are getting married on sometime in 2009.  We are so excited for them.

Visiting Beth

My friend Beth came to visit her inlaws last week and I got to see her.  (For those who don’t know she was my lifesaver my first year of teaching and helped me to survive that first year.  We both got pregnant during that year and then had our boys 7 weeks apart during my second year of teaching.)  Anyway it was fun to see Ben and Aiden playing together again.  I don’t really think about how much bigger Ben is then other kids until we get together and he seems years older because he is so tall.  I was excited for her to see Tyler and she was soooooooo cute with him (Aiden didn’t like him so much).  I didn’t realize just how much I have missed her until I got to see her again.  I would just like to freeze my boys where they are and jump ahead 2 1/2 years so that she could be back.

Grandma Leask

January 6, 2007We had the chance to see Scott’s Grandma Leask yesterday.  (She lives in California and we haven’t made it out there for a couple of years.  Ben, car, 10 hours, our sanity?)  We were excited for her to meet Tyler and to be able to have a nice dinner with her.  I was excited that I could get a picture of her and my boys!!

Christmas Day

Bike 1 Bike 2 Bike 3
Scott and I decided that Christmas morning we would get up at 6 AM so that we could visit everyone we needed to in the morning.  Wish we would have explained that to Ben.  He came in at 5 and rather than trying to fight him back to sleep just to wake him up we decided to let the excitement begin.  Santa definetly found us.  Ben came downstairs and saw his bike and said, “there’s my bike.”  No surprise, no excitement.  Just that he knew it was going to be there.  He got really cute when Scott told Ben he could go get it and then he ran over and climbed on.  It was a fun morning with Ben opening all of his presents all of Tyler’s presents.  Then we ran to my mom and dad’s to see Holly and Kasey before they went to Wyoming.  After that we went to Scott’s parents for their yummy (looked forward to all year) Christams breakfast.  We spent the day with the family.  It was a great day and we feel extremely blessed.
