Tyler at 2 Months
November 28, 2007 by Heidi in Family
I had the joy of taking Tyler to his two month check up. He weighed 12lbs 2oz. and was 23 inches long. I was having a heart attack about this at first because Ben was 12 lbs. at 5 weeks. The doctor reassured me that Tyler is just fine. He is in the 50th percentile for height and weight. (I’m just used to Ben who at 2 years old is still at the 100th percentile for both things). I guess Tyler just must have more Dimmick blood in him than Ben. :) Tyler was a trooper getting his shots and the cutest thing was when Ben climbed up on the step on the other side of Tyler and held his hand and kept saying, “It’s okay Tyler. Tyler you are okay.” What a good big brother!!
Hardwood Floors!!!
November 19, 2007 by Heidi in House Stuff
So Scott and I have wanted hardwood floors since we moved into our house. The first problem was getting the money for it and the second was finding one we could agree on. Well, we finally had the money (thank you band gigs). The problem was finding a floor that we both liked and could afford. So after months of looking Scott found the floor on the KSL classified online ads (which I had made fun of him for looking at everyday). So, we decided to get them (I still wasn’t sure that I really liked it, but I was tired of looking). The floors came and sat in our house for the week that it needed. Then we were ready to put it down. It was quite a Saturday.

Potty Adventures
November 15, 2007 by Heidi in Family
I am proud to announce that for the first time Ben went #1 and #2 in the potty. After 2 months of changing poopy diapers for two kids I can’t tell you how excited it made me. He was very excited about getting to wear big boy pull-ups because all of his friends do. He was also excited for his sticker and watching his dad do the pee-pee and poo dance (isn’t it amazing what we will do for our kids). So we have now officially started the potty training expedition. Judy (our babysitter) said that he should be able to do it, so we’re trusting her experience. Wish us luck!!
Christmas Before Thanksgiving?
November 15, 2007 by Scott in Friends & Neighbors, House Stuff
It’s getting close to Thanksgiving and Christmas again and I am faced with the same dilemma that I face every year at this time… Do I put up my Christmas lights now, or do I wait until after Thanksgiving?
Heidi has made it very clear that she wants to make sure Thanksgiving is over before any Christmas decorations go up. I understand her thinking. We should be grateful for what we HAVE before we start thinking about what we’re going to GET for Christmas.

Pumpkin Story Cont.
November 12, 2007 by Heidi in Family, Work
So, if you thought that the original pumpkin story was touching I have another chapter to add to it. I went to work this morning and was having a great day because I finished the testing that I needed to. The only bad thing about the day was that the little girl who lost her brother was having a bad day. I sent my kids to recess and when the bell rang I went to make 1/2 of my class come back outside and line-up (different teachers/different expectations) when my dad walked in the classroom.

Pumpkin Story
November 9, 2007 by Heidi in Family, Work
So every year my dad grows pumpkins for all of my students. This year he grew pumpkins for the entire Kindergarten. For some reason though this year the pumpkins would not grow. My dad had to replant them 3 times. I told him to just forget about it. I said that it wasn’t worth all of the work that he was putting into it. He said that it was, and he was definetly right. After going back to work yesterday I found out that one of my students had a two year old brother who was killed by a car. The girl cam back to school today.
